History
Our business was founded in 1968 by a Royal Decree, resulting in a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, the General Organization of Petroleum and Minerals and Mobil Investments, an affiliate of ExxonMobil, to supply lubricants to the KSA market. The joint venture was called Petromin Lubricating Oil Company (‘Petrolube’).
2010
The grease plant in Jubail was sold due to low operational production
2013
On 19 June 2013 Al-Dabbagh Group became the sole owner of Petromin Corporation
2016
Petromin had manufacturing plants in three countries in the MENA region
Product distribution reach across all of Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia
Technolube was acquired in UAE
2020
The company’s name changed to “Petromin Oil Company”
Technolube closed its Oman subsidiary
2022
Petromin’s business relating to lubricating oils and greases were transferred to Petrolube
2008
In early 2008 the company was re-named as Petromin Corporation
2012
Continual investment in Jeddah plant increased production capacity to 250,000 MT per annum
2015
The Sudan branch’s business model changed to directly transact with a distributor
Petromin expanded into Pakistan
2018
The company was incorporated under the name “Petromin for Vehicles”
2021
The name was changed to “Petrolube Oil Company”
Petrolube Oil Company, the KSA lubricant division of Petromin Corporation, was carved-out with the transfer of shares of Technolube, Petromin Pakistan and Greif Saudi Arabia
